The developers of the looter shooter The First Descendant shared details of the second season, which was called Void Chaser. It starts on December 5, 2024 and will last until February 2025. The main goal of this season is to correct the game based on the feedback received from the players and try to correct the situation with the drop in online. Let’s briefly highlight the main changes:
- A new descendant of Keelan Ayodele will be added to the game from the start of the second season. He has unique poisonous abilities, and his special skill “Dash” allows him to quickly move through the air and damage enemies.
- You can get the character in a new dungeon, which is an ancestral spaceship stuck in the Void. Access to it opens at the eighth mastery level and does not depend on completing the story campaign. This is the first dungeon whose structure changes every time you visit it.
- The new female character will be Ines Raya, who specializes in electrical AOE damage to destroy opponents. She will play an important role in the plot of the second season, but players will only be able to get her in the seventh week of the season, i.e. from January 16, 2025. Details about the skills will be revealed later.
- Sharen’s descendant will receive an ultimatum and a personal story that will reveal the reasons for her cold character. The main events of the second season will take place parallel to the main storyline.
- As for new personal stories, the team is still balancing between adding new ones and developing the main plot, as this requires a lot of time and resources.
- Balance edits to Frein’s descendant were discussed. However, it was decided to hold off on the rework and look at the balance in the new season, and only after that return to the question of its strength.
- For the first time in the game, a pet will appear – a German shepherd. You can interact with her: pet her, high-five her, and so on. Pet customization is divided into four parts, and will allow you to customize the appearance of the animal itself and cosmetic elements. In the future, this content will be developed through new interactions and cosmetic elements. And they will be available both in-game and in the premium store.
- However, a pet is not just another decoration. It is designed to select loot dropped from enemies and automatically parse it into resources according to customizable filters. This way, players can reduce one of the most tedious actions in the game – sorting out garbage, which clogs up their inventory.
- The developers are somewhat simplifying the extraction: players will be able to receive a guaranteed reward when completing dungeons multiple times and will be able to increase the chances of getting the necessary stats in their equipment.

- The new Dread Armor boss is larger than the usual named Vulgus bosses. His feature will be the use of several types of weapons at different stages of the battle: initially he uses a pistol and a shield, after which he separates the shield into two parts and uses them as a melee weapon, and in the end he is armed with two pistols. In the future, it is planned to add new combat patterns not only to bosses, but also to regular enemies.
- High-end content will be replenished with battles with mutated colossi. Already familiar monsters will receive an updated appearance, new behavior patterns and will learn to regenerate destroyed body parts. In addition, there will be a mode for four players with 30 difficulty levels and super-strong opponents. This was the developers’ response to complaints from players about the lack of tests and challenges in the game.
- Season 2 will bring three new weapons, two of which will be available in the Battle Pass. And rebalancing the ultimate weapon will allow you to unlock its potential already at level zero without the need to upgrade to level four.
- The variety of skins will reach the next level: in addition to the usual experiments, skins dedicated to the Colossi will appear. The developers divide costumes into three types: funny, sexy, brutal. Each type will receive new copies so that players can choose the most preferable option.
- It will be possible to paint the basic costumes of descendants and their ultimate versions.
