The South Korean company BlackStorm, which produced in December 2024 the mobile anime-RPG Rememento: White Shadow, was in a difficult situation. According to the Korean Agency Yonhap NewsJune 23, more than 70 employees (almost 70% of the total staff) received notifications of forced dismissal.
According to sources, at first the notice of the reduction was sent through the internal messenger, and then the employees were called one at a time to sign documents. Although Blackstorm representatives said that support and development of Remempento: White Shadow will continue, mass dismissals put the future of the project for a serious doubt.
The studio was founded in 2021 by Netmarble immigrants and at the early stage attracted investments from companies such as Garena, Atinum Investment and Korea Investment Partners. Rememento was positioned as an original project with a unique universe, high -quality graphics and its own IP, but after the release I faced technical problems, bugs and low ease of interface – all this negatively affected the holding of the players.
An additional blow to the project dealt monetization in April, which, according to users, worsened the domestic economy. As a result, the game began to rapidly lose the remaining audience.
Recall that the release of the Russian -speaking version from the publisher of Fogame is scheduled for the fall of 2025, and a little more than a week ago the official site was replenished with information about the characters.
