The South Korean company WEMADE is developing a console RPG according to the popular Legend of Mir franchise. This was reported by the MTN publication with reference to its own sources. Development is carried out by the Wemade M subsidiary, which previously released the mobile MMORPG MIR M: Vanguard and Vagabond.
The game is created exclusively for consoles, without support for PCs and mobile platforms – which is a rare step for Korean developers, especially when working with classic intellectual rights. The original Legend of Mir was published in 1998 and over the past 25 years has overgrown with many continuations and regional versions.
The development of the console project is headed by PAK IVIN, a former producer of MIR M, and the total number of employees involved is about 50 people. The project control, according to MTN, is carried out by PAK Kwan Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of WEMADE.
As a target platform and stylistics, the developers rely on the Western audience and focus on the appropriate visual and gameplay style. Nevertheless, according to MTN, at the moment, WEMADE has not yet entered into an agreement with a specific console platform.
If the project reaches the release, it will be the first console game in the Legend of Mir franchise and the second Combined Wemade Canticated Project after the Black Vultures: Prey of Greed shooter from Theismeanswar studio.
