Donkey Crew Studios, in partnership with Snail Games USA, has released a major free expansion, Maiden Voyage, for the medieval action game with elements of survival Bellwright. The update significantly expands the game’s content, adding an extensive new map, story questline, new progression systems and unique loot.
The most significant innovation is the Halmare Isles map, which covers an area of over 10 square kilometers, which is about 25% of the size of the original world. This region introduces a completely new storyline with several progression branches. In addition, a Loyalty and Faction system has been introduced into the game, which will add a social and political level of interaction. New animals and construction objects have been added, and the range of armor and equipment has been expanded.
“We’ve been very pleased with the player response to Bellwright since its Early Access launch last year, and want to show our gratitude by turning the game into the expansive, feature-rich survival RPG you’ve been dreaming of,” said creative director and project lead Florian Hoffreiter. “Maiden Voyage significantly expands Bellwright in both scale and functionality. Now the game is bigger and better than ever, and with over a million wishes on the wishlist, there’s never been a better time to join!”
Among other changes in the update it is worth noting:
- Full controller support.
- Trade and Caravan mechanics that add a strategic element by allowing players to build and manage a logistics network between their outposts.
- Improved wall fortification system with new mechanics and specific AI for attackers and defenders, which increases the strategic depth of base defense.
- Significantly improved character editor, offering more options and better character models.
- New types of weapons and cloaks to personalize your appearance.
To celebrate the release of the update, Bellwright developers have set a 34% discount on Steamthanks to which the game can be purchased for 726 rubles until December 17, 2025.
