The last part in the game series, which from the very first part was recognized as a real masterpiece that deserves many praises and a long memory. Yes, we are talking about a game called Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain. Gaming publications almost unanimously gave the game a score of at least nine points out of ten; but what do we see in the gaming community? There are different ratings. How can this be explained? Most players compare the new part with the old ones and find that everything was better in the past. Who is right is unknown. It is only known that, even if rumor is not always wrong, listening to it without your own opinion is a very bad thing, in a sense. Therefore, we suggest that you play this game just to see for yourself what it is like. Well, and, perhaps, get a lot of pleasant sensations from its passage. Well, on this we will move on to the main part of this article.

Short review

The events of this part of the game take place in 1984. The goal pursued by Snake is to recreate his army, destroyed in the previous part. For several years he lay in a coma, and after waking up, he immediately begins to fulfill his idea. He becomes a participant in several wars at once: the Soviet-Afghan and the civil war in Angola. As in the previous parts of the series, you will have to show your skills in conducting a hidden war, that is, we mean, all missions in the game will have to be completed in stealth mode. To do this, you will have a huge pile of opportunities – you just need to act quickly and deftly. Of course, you can go directly, but then get ready for a merciless firing. An innovation in the game was the open world. Together with him, a free choice of tasks came into the game, a free appointment of the time for their completion, and, of course, methods.

Criticism

As we said, the game received high marks. Some gaming publications, such as IGN, gave it a perfect score. While the game definitely wins in terms of gameplay, its storyline leaves a lot to be desired. And it’s not that it was boring or bad – it’s just underdeveloped. Many note his emotionality and the “adult” topics that he raises; but at the same time, it is noted that he seems to have no definite core, the narrative is crumpled, and the ending is not “final”.

Gameplay

You control Venom Snake, also known as Big Boss. The game basically requires a hidden method of passage, and the gameplay is similar to that of the previous part. Solid has a lot of devices to move around the area unnoticed and complete his tasks, for example, binoculars, a map, and pistols. The latter, of course, already applies to weapons, with which there are no problems in the game either. You can find a wide variety of weapons, such as the already mentioned pistols, as well as machine guns, explosive devices and much more. A feature of the game is that the enemies do not have to be killed. On the contrary, passing without killing is encouraged. For example, Solid usually fires tranquilizer darts. Since the world has become open, the player has the opportunity to freely explore it, and therefore the movement system has also been supplemented. Solid has a horse, a car, and a tank that he can ride on (and the car and tank are not immediately available). In some places, which are surrounded by rocks, the player will have to climb on them, and this is also a new feature of the gameplay. Between missions, you find yourself at your base. Everyone there respects you and everything. But you will need to improve and strengthen it. Base expansion is another new and extensive aspect of the gameplay. To do this, you will need money, materials and labor.
