The MIUI dev team has announced that the MIUI 12.5 distribution will be delayed for several devices, in particular, due to adaptation issues of this new MIUI version for Android R (Android 11). The problem affected the devices Xiaomi CC9 (Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite), Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 8 Pro. The appearance of the global version of MIUI 12.5 for them was expected in July, but now, most likely, the wait for the update will be delayed.
Mi CC9, Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Mi 9 Pro 5G have had problems adapting to Android R and have not fully met national OTA update quality standards to date. Now, a team of engineers has tuned all four models to meet internal requirements. This work has been given the highest priority. We hope that everyone will be able to try out the latest operating system in the coming days, and we are confident that everyone will be able to figure it out.
As such, the software development team is already adapting these devices, although this news so far only concerns the Chinese firmware… Unfortunately, the delay in its release will almost certainly cause a delay in the release of MIUI 12.5 in the global version.
