On May 26, Xiaomi released a new beta version of MIUI Cleaner numbered V21.05.26.beta. And the changelog that comes with the update looks a little odd. The thing is that it indicates that the company has added support for floating windows MIUI 13 to the application, although the most current version of the software available to Xiaomi and Redmi users is MIUI 12.5. The mention of MIUI 13 clearly indicates that the company is in full swing of work on the next large-scale firmware update.
Since Xiaomi has already started updating its system apps, adding compatibility with MIUI 13, the chances are high that the presentation of the next generation software will take place soon. Back in early May, insiders said that MIUI 13 could be announced in June, and perhaps they are not far from the truth. But even if Xiaomi does release the next generation MIUI this month, don’t expect to be able to update your device right after the premiere. Traditionally, a large-scale launch of the new version of MIUI will be preceded by several months of beta testing, and only then Xiaomi will begin to deploy a stable assembly in China, and then in the global market.
There is no information about the new functions of MIUI 13 yet, but it is not hard to guess that in addition to all the innovations, the new OS will provide a smoother and more stable operation. It is also unknown which devices will be compatible with MIUI 13.
