MMORPG New World: Aeternum will live for another year – The exact date of server shutdown has become known

Amazon Games has clarified the future of its MMORPG New World: Aeternum by publishing a precise server shutdown schedule. Although the cessation of content release was announced several months ago, it is only now that the final date for the project has become known – January 31, 2027. Along with this announcement, sales on all digital platforms, including Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, have been discontinued.

Thus, game owners retain the right to access their characters for another year. To brighten up the wait for the finale, the developers extended the current tenth season of “Night Harbor” until the very moment the servers were turned off. The team plans to maintain the functionality of the game world, conduct weekly events and rotate world bosses, but work on new mechanics or combining worlds has completely stopped. Only fixes for critical bugs that affect performance will remain in normal mode.

Sales of Marks of Fortune currency and any other paid items will end on July 20, 2026. After this date, players will only be able to spend the supplies that are already in their accounts. The developers specifically emphasized that there are no refunds for purchased virtual currency, so users should use their savings before mid-summer.

Let us remind you that the release of New World took place in 2021, and in 2024 an updated version with the subtitle Aeternum was released. At the start, the game was extremely popular, surpassing the mark of 900 thousand players at the same time, but soon the project lost almost all of its online presence.
