In honor of the first anniversary of the launch of MMORPG Throne and Liberty, the developers held a special Nova Day broadcast. It talked about planned updates in the next six months, celebrating the first anniversary and much more. Present at the broadcast were Park Kyung-Soo, the game’s producer, and Choi Moon-Young, head of the development studio.

The broadcast began with a video dedicated to the most key and notable events in the history of Throne and Liberty for 2023 and 2024: the first closed testing in South Korea, the release of the game, the first sieges, the introduction of new cooperative dungeons, game events, the large-scale Talandre region and much more.

Before the announcement of the updated roadmap, Park Kyung-Soo apologized for moving some points from the plans announced in September 2024. First of all, we are talking about the new Guardian system: it was previously planned to add it in December 2024, but in the end the date was postponed to 2025. The first raid on 12 people was also postponed: from February 2025 to April. The reason lies in the lack of time, and the results obtained did not satisfy the team and it was decided to rework some elements. The developers hope that players will understand this situation and apologize for the delay.

December 2024

Season two of Hyper Boosting

On December 4, the second season of Hyper Boosting servers starts with accelerated character development. The event will last 5 weeks and end on January 8, 2025. The developers took into account player feedback after the first season and made many changes. Highlights:

  • Added a referral system with valuable gifts for the invitee and the inviter.
  • The gift chest is designed up to character level 55.
  • A special battle pass and a unique costume.
  • Opportunity to get T2 equipment and many resources to improve it.
  • Increased rates for experience, solant and rewards in dungeons.
  • For completing various activities, you will be awarded special coins, which are spent on purchasing useful items: from books for improving skills to T2 equipment.
  • The majority of players can easily reach 3500-4000 character strength. If you make an effort, you can exceed the 5000 mark.
  • All characters from the Hyper Boosting servers will move to the new regular server.
  • All equipment improved to “plus 9” will be transferred, along with the runes and artifacts in them.
  • Players from regular servers will be able to receive special coins for activities in the game and completing cooperative dungeons with players from Hyper Boosting servers. You can spend coins to purchase useful items.

Spear

The new weapon “Spear” will appear in the game on December 4, 2024. Previously, publisher Amazon Games published a special video in which he shared the process of its creation and features. The developers invited Ryu Byungjae from the combat system development department to the broadcast. He participated in the broadcast for the first time and shared details about the new weapon:

  • The Spear is a melee weapon with powerful AOE skills, fast combos, and many skills with debuffs.
  • Debuffs play a big role in dealing AOE damage. In some cases, your area damage is equal to damage to a single target.
  • Many skills that give bonuses to the character: increased attack speed, increased damage to enemies with low health, resistance to enemy control, etc.
  • The work of the Gale Rush skill depends on the target: if it is an enemy, then damage is dealt and attack speed is increased, and if the target is an ally, then the AOE attack will impose stunned control on the enemies.
  • The base attack range is 4 meters.
  • The main element is fire.
  • The spear is recommended to be used in conjunction with a two-handed sword or shield. The staff and bow combos also look promising.
  • The spear will be especially effective in open dungeons when farming mobs and in cooperative dungeons on the way to the boss.
  • The elite skill 망령 폭풍 (Ghostly storm) allows you to jump over long distances (up to 19 meters) and apply the “Fear” effect to several opponents.
  • The spear was developed in 4-5 months and the final version is very close to the original idea.

New character stat

The addition of a new character characteristic is associated with the poor survivability of tanks and the need to make character building more flexible. The characteristic 불굴 translates to “steadfastness,” “steadfastness,” or “inflexibility.” In the English version this word can be translated as “indomitable”.

Bonuses for contributing points to durability:

Improved interface and QOL

Work continues to improve the user interface. Changes will affect the character’s inventory, the cooking system, tabs with runes and artifacts, and the “combat presets” system will undergo a large-scale update. In the new menu, players will be able to customize presets with combat skills, equipment, guards and more. Please note that in the Korean version, presets can be obtained both for a one-time fee and as a bonus to premium status. The timing of the appearance of premium in the global version has not been announced, so you can only buy additional presets from Amazon Games.

Other changes

  • A combination of a bow and a staff will receive a buff that affects survivability.
  • On December 4, the maximum level of “Weapon Mastery” will be increased to 20.

January 2025

The main change in January will be a rework of the entire Weapon Mastery system. This will have a positive impact on the variety of playstyles, builds and character uniqueness. System highlights:

  • Each weapon can be upgraded to level 200, thereby receiving 200 points to customize the skill tree.
  • Instead of three separate branches, there were four with interconnected cells.
  • To open the cell, game gold is used – Solants. Resetting and adjusting the tree is free.
  • Cells can be increased by several levels, one skill point is used for each such step.
  • As you unlock slots in the skill tree, you will receive both bonuses to your character’s characteristics and passive effects called “Class Synergy”.
  • Each weapon has 8 passive effects. Ultimately, players will be able to choose from 16 passive skills across two weapon types.
  • Each skill can be unlocked independently of its neighbors. However, in some cases you will not receive an additional bonus from the skill.
  • The further the skill is from the center, the more valuable the bonus.
  • Each weapon has its own skill tree and there are slight differences in skill unlocks.
  • Skill points can be obtained for participating in game content and each player will have the opportunity to receive maximum bonuses from the new system.
  • Specialization levels will be transferable between weapon types.
  • New passive skills have been added that are unlocked as you accumulate skill points. This will increase the motivation of players to develop several types of weapons, rather than focusing on one combination.
  • Skills are unlocked when you accumulate 160/320/480/640/860 skill points. More skills will be added in the future.
  • Weapon Mastery level 16 in the current version of the game will become level 60 in the new system. And from December 5, 2024, the level cap will be raised to 20, so players will have time to prepare.

In addition, the game will feature a new costume, weapon attachments, and a New Year’s event.

February 2025

The main event in February 2025 will be the addition of a solo dungeon. It is similar to cooperative ones, but there are also differences:

  • Every week, small changes will be made to the solo dungeon to add variety to its gameplay.

  • The single player dungeon has five difficulty levels, allowing players to test their character and their strengths.
  • In the dungeon you can get runes, character equipment and other items.

It won’t be possible without a new costume for Valentine’s Day, as well as a seasonal event.

March 2025

The long-awaited cross-server sieges will appear in March. The confrontation will take place in a similar way to cross-server Riftstone and Boonstone, but within the framework of alliances that own castles. As a reward, you can receive significant amounts of Lucent premium currency. Therefore, it is planned to review the entire balance of tax distribution in the game. The March costume is more reminiscent of winter, but the card in honor of the planned event refers to the spring mood.

April 2025

Weekly 12-person raids will be the most challenging PvE content in the game. Players will be required to actively interact and share roles. The reward will be a new type of equipment (the so-called “gold grade”) and “special equipment”, which is created specifically for the new type of content.

In total, two difficulty levels are being prepared so that all players can master the content and receive a well-deserved reward. There will be three bosses in the raid, and your progress will be saved so you can continue at your convenience. Enemy patterns have become more complex and varied than in co-op dungeons.

The updated Guardian system will allow you to increase the levels of your “guardians” using items from the 12-person raid. Not only the characteristics and bonuses will change, but also the appearance of the “guard.” In addition, there will be a bonus for the collection of received and upgraded guards. By manually selecting three guards, you can gain an additional skill, which will become active during transformation and provided that you are armed with the necessary weapons. For example, if you have a sword in your hands, then it makes sense to take a guard with a sword skill.

New Guardians will be added to the game through various content. For example, for achievements, quests or a raid for 12 people.

  • A review of deleted guild names and player nicknames will soon take place. Expect news about the removal of the block for their reuse.
  • The fight against macros continues; thousands of accounts have already been banned.
