Answering questions after the Q2 2023 financial report, NCSOFT representatives shared information about the upcoming MMORPG Throne and Liberty. It is slated to release in South Korea in December 2023, with a global release from Amazon likely in 2024. Amazon Games should release more information about the game’s testing and release soon. It is worth noting that, despite the publishing of the game in Asia by NCSOFT itself, the launch date is tied to the launch of the global version from Amazon.
The postponement of the release dates is due to problems that arose after the closed test of the game in May this year. Most of all, the players criticized the starting character development and the combat system. These are the two main points on which the developers have concentrated their efforts for improvement.
Many players wanted to be able to move and hit the enemy. In this regard, the combat system has been finalized to become more dynamic. In addition, the amount of repetitive content at the initial stage of the game has been reduced and the speed of obtaining new levels has been significantly increased. NCSOFT is confident that they were able to achieve a good result in working on the criticized elements of the game.
Throne and Liberty is aimed at a wide audience of players, so the developers are trying to listen to the feedback even from those players who did not play the May test.
