MOBA Spellcasters Chronicles from the authors of Detroit: Become Human has been released in early access

Quantic Dream studio, known for various games in the Interactive Cinema genre, such as Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, has released its new project. Third-person MOBA Spellcasters Chronicles has appeared in early access on PC, which can be downloaded for free through the service Steam. Also on sale are three Founder’s Packs, offering premium currency and cosmetic items.

According to the developers, Spellcasters Chronicles will be in Early Access for approximately six months. The game will receive regular updates adding new content and features, including spellcasters (heroes), story elements, modes, and maps. It is also planned to introduce voice chat.

Unfortunately, the first results of the game leave much to be desired. At the time of writing this news, the maximum online on Steam has not even exceeded the 1000 player mark, and player reviews turned out to be “mixed” – the rating is 52% based on 162 reviews. Those who have played mostly criticize the project for its boring gameplay and mediocre character design.

Spellcasters Chronicles is a third-person MOBA where players take on the role of Spellcasters in the world. Battles take place in a 3v3 format, where magic is used not only for direct attacks, but also to change the landscape of the arenas. A distinctive feature is the verticality of the gameplay. Mages are able to fight in flight while simultaneously controlling ground armies of summoned creatures.

The strategic layer of the game is built on a combination of the character’s personal skills and minion management. Players have access to more than 50 spells and creatures from seven different schools of magic, which allows them to flexibly customize their build for the roles of a tank, fighter or support. During the match, you can build defensive structures or summon giant Titans that can radically change the balance of power on the field. The development of the Spellcasters Chronicles universe will be directly dependent on the community. Each season, players participate in votes that determine changes to the game’s lore and mechanics.
