Open world Red Dead Redemption 2 big enough to hold anything: grizzly bears, consumptive cowboys, UFO conspiracy theories. But sometimes PC players take this capacity to the extreme and stuff in it an intergalactic soldier in power armor who calmly gallops across the prairies of New Hanover.

The reason for the next series of scenes was a video that one of the players shared after his younger brother completed the story to the end and decided to answer the question “how do you like John” not with words, but with mods.

In the video, Marston walks around in gear from the Halo universe, at the same time not parting with a jacket made of white bison skin, the most pretentious reward for hunting the legendary animal in the Grizzly.

The owner of the recording himself honestly admitted that he has no idea what mods are there, except that his brother is “a Halo fan.”

Then the funniest thing happened. Master Chief’s armor, helmet and weapons were widely identified as something from Overwatch, and the line went like this:

What kind of Overwatch Redemption is this?

Someone couldn’t stand it and wrote that they no longer understand whether this is a joke or whether Halo has really fallen out of the public consciousness so much.

The question, by the way, is not idle. Halo: Combat Evolved came out in 2001 and defined the shape of console shooters for the decade ahead, but the franchise has lived quietly in recent years: 2021’s Halo Infinite never turned into a long-running hit.
