As you know, there will be no new maps in the multiplayer modes of the first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III – at least at launch. Instead, the developers are going to offer us remasters of old maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. There will be 16 of them in total, and each of them will receive graphical improvements.
“A look at the process of upgrading all 16 MW2 (2009) starter maps for Modern Warfare III multiplayer. To deliver the original movement and shooting experience while staying true to modern mechanics, the team at Sledgehammer Games strives to create the best versions of these maps. Their ultimate goal: creating a satisfying player experience that simultaneously offers nostalgia and modern game mechanics,” reads the video description.
The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, as previously reported, will take place on November 10, 2023. However, before this, the developers are going to conduct open beta testing.
