Thanks to vacancies on the site, the South Korean company NCSOFT was able to find out that they were developing a game in the rogue-lite genre. Currently the project has the code name Project MDR and there are several vacancies associated with it: 3D artists, art artists and animators.
Thanks to the job descriptions, you can find out that the Project MDR team was recently created, and its goal is to expand the NCSOFT portfolio by developing games of new genres. The first vacancies are published in early September 2024.
As for the game itself, we managed to find out the following:
- The project is created on Unreal Engine 5.
- The game will have high-quality graphics that use all the capabilities of the engine.
- The target platforms are personal computers and consoles.
- To animate the characters, motion capture technology is used from actors.
Note that the company has not previously created games in this genre. However, plans to differentiate game genres open up the possibility of creating a wide variety of games. Not all of them are successful, such as PUZZUP: AMITOI or Battle Crushbut there are also successful examples in the form of Hoyeon.
