NetEase Games makes Ego Effect: RPG for one person with a story, but for China

Ego Effect is a single player RPG from Chinese game publisher NetEase Games. The game probably has some connection to the visual novel 428: Shibuya Scramble for the Nintendo Wii. In Ego Effect, we play as one of 13 characters. Their mission is to travel 100 years into the future. It is necessary to find a cure to save people who have become extinct from the virus.

The city of Huangzhou was used as a prototype city. Drawing is done by Studio Ghibli, which is currently working on Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds. The plot is being handled by the same person who worked on Shibuya Scramble. For some gamers, the game resembles Persona and Shin Megami Tensei. By the way, we should expect that Ego Effect is also a visual novel; at least dialogues in this format.

Ego Effect will be released on iOS and Android. No release date. Probably the release will take place in the Celestial Empire, and then, if everything goes well, we will see a global release. It will be a shareware project with all that it implies. Pre-registration is now available via TapTap
