The action takes place in a small fishing town on the island of Newfoundland. Hartnett plays Calvin Penny, a man haunted for years by the mysterious death of his father.
When an unknown sea creature begins to terrorize the coastline, Calvin must team up with a marine explorer to protect his family and the island’s inhabitants. At the same time, the hero will have to uncover long-standing secrets related to the death of his father and the origin of the underwater threat.
In addition to Hartnett, the series featured Charlie Heaton, familiar to viewers from his role in Stranger Things. All six episodes of Below will premiere on October 8, and the show will be released on Netflix in its entirety, without weekly episodes.
