Netmarble has decided to shut down the turn-based role-playing game King Arthur: Legends Rise and disband the development team. We are talking about Gurobal Games, a subsidiary of Kabam Games, which, in turn, belongs to the North American division of Netmarble. This was reported by the South Korean portal MTN with reference to their sources.
A briefing for employees, at which all conditions were announced, was held on December 8, 2025. The reduction will affect about 40 people who will leave the company with two months’ salary. There are employment options in other teams, but it is not a fact that all employees will take advantage of them.
In addition, the reason for this decision is also given: the game King Arthur: Legends Rise turned out to be a financial failure, and its further development requires additional funds, which neither Kabam Games nor Netmarble plan to allocate.
Meanwhile, the developers announced that the game will be closed on March 12, 2026, and the sale of game goods and services will cease from December 9. All social networks will be closed on June 13, 2026. Until these dates, the team will maintain the game as part of its stable operation so that players can enjoy the final days.
