In the latest issue of the English-language magazine PC Gamer, an article was published on the first-person shooter STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The article revealed new details about the game and published new screenshots.
The developers have confirmed that the sequel is a completely open world, with an area of 64 square kilometers, not divided into separate segments. Players are free to explore different locations with different environments and enemies. The latter include both familiar mutants and completely new ones. As the action unfolds in our day, many places have changed – both for the better and for the worse.
As before, there are some survival elements in the game. Players will have to eat, monitor radiation levels and sleep on time. In addition, it is allowed to improve weapons and install various upgrades on them. Of course, there are also anomalies. In STALKER 2, they have become more diverse and more dangerous, and completely new types have appeared.
The game script contains about 350 thousand words. The plot is non-linear, and to see all the paths and forks, you will have to go through the campaign several times, spending a total of 100 hours on it. At the same time, the developers note that there are no right and wrong decisions in the game, since each faction has its own pros and cons.
The release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl will take place on April 28, 2022 on PC and Xbox Series X | S. Multiplayer is coming later and will be released as a free update.
