The developers of the PvPvE action game Dungeon Stalkers in the spirit of Dark and Darker shared details about future innovations in their debut dev blog. The team is preparing a number of changes, including updating game modes, improving the matchmaking system, reworking the initial gameplay and a new Stalker – Shinobu.
First of all, the studio plans to simplify the structure of the modes to make the gameplay more intuitive and varied. Players will be able to choose from three main formats:
- Quick Battle Mode is a mode for relaxed combat where players can experiment with tactics without the risk of losing equipped items.
- Competitive Match Mode is a high-stakes mode where players lose everything they’ve earned if they fail to exit the dungeon in time. Supports the competitive spirit and the opportunity to earn rewards for high places on the leaderboard.
- Adventure Mode is a cooperative PvE mode dedicated to exploring dungeons of varying difficulty.
Important improvements have been made to the matchmaking system, which now takes into account skill and equipment levels for more balanced teams. It has become easier to view information about joined participants and select characters before starting the game. The developers also made the process of playing with friends more convenient by adding the ability to remain in a team after a battle and send friend requests directly from the team screen.
For beginners, the developers have added updated training missions and practical tasks that help them master the game mechanics. To familiarize themselves with the combat system, players will be able to engage in quick matches against the AI, which will help them adapt to the game before diving into PvP.
New character Shinobu is introduced, a ninja from the eastern land of Kayoku who dreams of becoming a great warrior and meeting her long-lost brother. She is a master of close combat and uses shuriken to attack from a distance, as well as stealth ninja techniques to sneak up and destroy enemies.
In the Q&A block, the developers answered popular questions from the community. So, in the future, we can expect expansion of the story through trailers and seasons, an improved skill system, and more diverse cosmetic elements. There are also plans to add visual effects for rare items and disable friendly fire to improve team play.
The developers promised to continue communicating with players through monthly dev blogs and share news about upcoming tests.
