The DLSS 5 leak continues to bring unexpected results. The NeuralScreen modification allows you to apply Nvidia’s neural rendering not only to games, but also to any Windows window, from YouTube videos to movies.

The creator of the tool, a moderator under the nickname Perseval_BLR, assembled the application using Claude and posted the sources on GitHub. NeuralScreen works as an overlay on top of any application in windowed mode, since the filter is not inherently tied to a specific game engine.

In the demo, the developer first overlays DLSS 5 onto a Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay clip, reproducing the effect of a full mod for the game itself. Then a scene from the movie Interstellar appears in the frame, and the technology begins to complete the shadows and skin tones of living actors in the same way. The demo ends by running Doom 3 in windowed mode with the filter active.

The application can switch between windows on the fly or process the entire screen. By default, the numeric keys are responsible for changing windows, recording videos, taking screenshots, and calling the settings menu, but the layout can be reassigned.

Like other mods based on a leaked neural network, NeuralScreen offers a set of visual presets and sliders for fine-tuning the picture. There is even a comparison mode with a curtain right during operation. The only serious limitation is that exclusive full-screen mode is not supported.

The price of such an “improvement” remains high. In the demo, the RTX 5070 Ti struggled to maintain 60fps while rendering Doom 3, a 22-year-old game, at 2576×1487.

Officially, DLSS 5 only works on RTX 50 series graphics cards, but enthusiasts have already extended compatibility up to RTX 20.
