NEXON has released the first teaser image of its new game, codenamed Project RX. In the picture, two heroines are looking at the player, while the third is playing with cats in the background. All this takes place in a remarkable room full of paintings, lamps, masks and other details. The list of platforms and release date have not yet been specified.
Work on Project RX began in April last year, when Nexon assembled a small team to create the concept. As a result of detailed development of the project and improvement of its mechanics, by August 2024 the team had grown into a full-fledged studio – RX Studio. The leadership is led by Cha Min Seo, known for his experience managing the Korean and global versions of Blue Archive. Art director Yutoka Mizu, who was responsible for the visual style and character design of Blue Archive, also became an important part of the team.
Project RX is based on immersive storytelling, where the player’s interaction with characters, immersion in their story and building trusting relationships is central. The game will include elements of everyday life and adventure, allowing players to go through various situations with the characters, solve problems and develop bonds with them. At the same time, the project uses the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5, providing high-quality 3D graphics and animation, creating a lively and colorful atmosphere.
To improve the development process, Nexon Games recently created a new division, IO, which specializes in creating immersive games. This includes MX Studio, which continues to work on Blue Archive, and RX Studio, which focuses on Project RX. The head of the new division, Kim Yong Ha, personally oversees both projects.
Cha Min Seo shared his vision for Project RX as a game that will offer players immersion in the characters’ daily lives, shared adventures, and memorable moments. He also emphasized that the experience gained during the development and support of Blue Archive will be used to create fresh gaming solutions and improve interaction with players.
