Nintendo announced that from March 25, 2025, players will no longer be able to earn gold glasses. Recall that this is an internal bonus currency that is charged for the purchase of digital and physical games. Players could use these coins to get discounts in Nintendo Eshop, reducing the cost of games and additions.
This is what you need to know about changes in the system:
- Golden glasses will cease to be accrued for the purchase of digital games in Nintendo ESHOP and on the official Nintendo website since March 25, 2025.
- The pre -order, issued until March 25, 2025, retains the possibility of receiving points, even if the game comes out after this date.
- Owners of physical copies of games released before March 24, 2025 will be able to continue to register them through the Home menu on Nintendo Switch.
- If you still have gold points on the balance sheet, then they will be active for another 12 months from the date of accrual.
Nintendo does not specify the reasons for the cancellation of the program, but reserves the opportunity to calculate Gold Points in exceptional cases.
