Hello Games released For No Man’s Sky a large-scale Cosmos update dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the title.
According to the developers, this is the largest overhaul of outer space in the game’s history – an area that has remained virtually unchanged since its release in 2016. The update affects literally every aspect of movement between star systems.

The main innovation is the ability to buy your own space station and turn it into your personal headquarters. It can be customized both outside and inside, and the owner can invite friends to the station for joint activities.

In addition to personal stations, modular bases that are not tied to planets have appeared in outer space. Hello Games suggests using them as retail outlets or military outposts – a set of modules allows you to assemble structures for a variety of tasks.
Such structures can be placed anywhere in the system, including the empty space between planets.

System scanning now shows many more objects to explore. At outposts, players will be able to trade with aliens, receive quests and buy maps of the surrounding area, and abandoned stations can be dismantled for parts.
Some outposts have been captured by monsters, so before using the resources, such objects will have to be cleared.

The asteroid belts have also been significantly reworked – now among the stones there are deposits of valuable resources that are worth fighting for. Some rare asteroids are so large that they allow you to land a ship directly on the surface and build a full-fledged base.
A gravity beam was added to extract resources from space debris, but if handled carelessly, the debris overheats and explodes.

A separate alliance system will allow groups of players to jointly build a network of stations and expand their zone of influence. Such associations will be able to compete with each other in a special ranking based on the level of wealth, although the developers, apparently, do not allow direct attacks on competitors’ stations.

In addition, there’s the Star System Map, an interactive diagram that shows the location of celestial bodies, deep space objects of interest, and unidentified signals in your current system.
