The creators of the cooperative horror shooter No More Room in Hell 2 faced a wave of negative reviews after launching the game in early access, caused by many bugs and performance problems. In response they released letterin which they shared plans to correct the situation.
The first fix will be released in the near future and will be aimed at eliminating a number of serious problems. The patch includes server optimizations to improve performance, and also fixes bugs such as slow response to hits, zombie teleportation, animation problems and the so-called “rubber band” effect, when characters or objects move in jerks. In addition, bugs related to first-person animations where weapons were displayed incorrectly, as well as shotguns that did not damage zombies, have been fixed. Fixes have been made to the wiring and generator mini-games. Improved performance of the voice communication system and fixed problems with displaying VOIP icons.
The developers emphasize that this fix does not solve all problems, but is an important step towards improving the game. The main focus is on fixing the most critical bugs that seriously affect the gameplay, but the team continues to work on other bugs.
In parallel with this, servers around the world are being updated. The team said it recently encountered inconsistencies with its cloud servers, which led to player complaints of high ping and performance issues, especially among players in Asia, South America and the Western US. The first improvements to the server infrastructure have already been made, which should have a positive impact on the gameplay, and further improvements are planned in the near future.
The team also pointed out issues such as zombies disappearing, character heads and weapons floating, and problems with object and button interaction. These bugs are being analyzed, and the developers have promised to regularly inform players about progress in eliminating them. At the same time, minor bugs related to visual effects and less significant aspects of gameplay will be fixed at a later stage.
