Smilegate announced that it will become a global publisher of the MMORPG Eclipse: The Awakening, which is being developed by the Korean company NPIXEL, known for the long-awaited MMORPG Chrono Odyssey. The agreement was concluded on June 4, 2024, but it was announced only on the 17th. The direct publisher will be Smilegate Megaport.
Eclipse is an MMORPG based on a new intellectual property. It will feature strategic game elements that take advantage of height and terrain. The project is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and should be released in the first half of 2025 on PC and mobile platforms.
Many experienced developers have joined the game’s development to provide a comprehensive gaming experience that reflects the needs of modern MMORPG fans.
“Eclipse is the anticipated NPIXEL project from MMORPG development professionals. We will do our best to bring the charm of Eclipse to game fans around the world, drawing on Smilegate’s accumulated publishing capabilities,” Baek Young Hoon, Head of Smilegate Megaport.
