One of the controversial moments of the multiplayer first-person shooter Overwatch 2 is considered by many to be the changed monetization system, which made it almost impossible to get skins for free. The developers listened to the feedback and decided to bring back one of the old ways to open cosmetics.

By participating in matches, players will be able to earn classic credits needed to unlock items. But you didn’t think it would be so easy, did you? Some restrictions still exist. Firstly, this way you can only open basic (non-event) skins. Secondly, you can only get 1,500 credits for challenges and 500 credits with a battle pass per season. Thus, for a season (approximately two months), free-to-play players will have the opportunity to unlock only one legendary character skin.

The third season of the Overwatch 2 shooter should start on February 7, 2023.
