With Sea of Stars, the developers aimed to modernize the classic role-playing system in terms of turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration, and interaction with the environment. In the center of the plot are Valere and Zeil, using the power of the sun and moon to fight the alchemist. The gameplay includes elements of puzzle-solving and turn-based combat, with players able to control up to six characters. The game is inspired by RPGs such as Illusion of Gaia, Breath of Fire and Chrono Trigger.
