PUBG Mobile gained a lot of popularity among games for mobile devices, but it all started with a game on a PC. Throughout the history of its existence, it has acquired various Easter eggs from the developers, and we have collected them in this article in case you missed any of them.
HOMAGE
As you know, the story of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds began with the fact that a moddler named Brendan Green decided to make zombie survival mods for DayZ. The player under the nickname DevilWalker organized the first separate server for his mod, and this was an important milestone on the way to the formation of PUBG as an independent game, and Green as a developer. DevilWalker for his contribution was immortalized in the form of graffiti on the map of Erangel.
NOT JUST A NAME
Since we are talking about Erangel, you probably know that the map was created under the impression of the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. But did you know that the name itself – Erangel – is not just a random set of letters? It turns out to be based on the name of Green’s daughter, Erin.
LONG LIVE DACIA
Among the many cars on which you can ride in the game, squeezed a modest passenger car Dacia. And it’s no coincidence that she ended up in PUBG: it’s a reference to Green’s favorite show, Top Gear, where making fun of this creation of the Romanian car industry has become something of a tradition.
PYSHCH-PYSHCH
The M416 assault rifle present in PUBG has a firing mode switch, just like the real weapon from which it was drawn. Only here the standard designations “fuse”, “semi-automatic” and “automatic” you will not find on it – the developers decided to have a little fun and replaced them with “No Pew”, “Pew” and “Pew Pew” (“not pyshch”, “pyshch”, “pyshch-pyshch”), respectively.
REMEMBER HOW IT ALL STARTED
The crossbow from PUBG is actually a reference to a similar weapon from the movie Battle Royale, which served as the inspiration for the creation of the game. The same goes for the sickle, a melee weapon.
THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH
In Miramar, interesting posters can be seen on the buildings. Judging by the appearance, this is an advertisement of a travel agency, inviting players to go to the “exotic Erangel”. And Erangel, as we know, was the first map for PUBG.
HEY TEACHER! LEAVE US ALONE!
If you want to find a really well-hidden secret, try to land on top of the mountain in Miramar, which is located next to Minas del Sur. It is not easy to do, but the result is worth it: at the very top among the stones you can find a road cone with a note pinned to it, on which it is written “I hate school”. This is a reference to the location of the School in Erangel, where, due to the abundance of narrow passages and weapons, fierce shootings were constantly started.
PLATA O PLOMO?
When creating Erangel, Chernobyl was taken as a basis, but Mexico served as the prototype of Miramar. And what is Mexico without the theme of cartels and Pablo Escobar, especially after the series “Narcos” was released on Netflix? It is not surprising that in Miramar you can find graffiti with its famous phrase “Plata o Plomo”, which means “silver or lead”.
SIGN A SIGNAL IF YOU’RE HAVING FUN
Maybe the developers of PUBG do not always have time to cope with fixing bugs and catching cheaters, but they do not occupy a sense of humor.
On the desert map, you can find SUVs with unusual number plates “F2HNK”, which stands for “F to honk” – press F to honk. Any PUBG veteran knows that by pressing F, you’ll instead fly out of the car while driving, and there’s a good chance you won’t survive landings, but that’s the joke. Playing new players, offering them a signal, has become something of a tradition that will not survive for a long time.
