Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is closing – though not the regular version, but the lite version, which is distributed according to the Free-to-Play model. PUBG LITE was released in open beta testing on PC in October 2019, but despite being free and low system requirements, it never managed to gain popularity.
The game can no longer be downloaded from the official website, and the servers will be permanently closed on April 29 at 8:00 Moscow time. A month after that, on May 29, player support ends.
“We are incredibly grateful to a loyal army of fans for their love and support for PUBG LITE. Hopefully, during the difficult days of the COVID-19 pandemic, our PUBG LITE helped players not get bored of self-isolation. Unfortunately, after a long debate, we had to make a difficult decision and stop supporting the project. Our journey is coming to an end. We are sorry to inform you that support for PUBG LITE will end on April 29, 2021, ”reads the official announcement.
Unfortunately, no compensation has been reported for those who invested real money.
