A lot is already known about the MMORPG Throne and Liberty, including from closed and open tests conducted by NCSOFT and Amazon Games. But if you don’t follow all the events, then you may have missed out on what kind of gaming content the game offers. We tried to briefly talk about the activities that have already been shown to players. It is worth noting that the developers may prepare something new for the release of the game or redo existing mechanics and content. At the moment, the version of the game from Amazon Games is under NDA and, unfortunately, it is not possible to publish screenshots and videos.
PvE
Codex
The code allows you to monitor the progress of the game and contains three tabs:
- The main storyline (Adventure), which gradually leads you through locations and teaches all the basic mechanics of the game. Quests give a lot of experience to the character, some consumables, transformations and equipment for the character. This is what you should focus on first, at least until level 30.
- Side (blue) location quests (Exploration). Most often these are small tasks to kill mobs or visit some places in a certain location. You can view all tasks and rewards and determine what is important to you at this point in the game. The main difference is that some tasks require compliance with certain conditions and cannot always be easily completed. For example, a task to kill mandrakes during the rain.
- A collection of books and notes (Collection) that are scattered around the world. For collecting collections you can get a special currency, which can be spent on purchasing new images for transformation.
Taedal’s Tower
A chain of bosses that the player must defeat in single player mode. For each boss, a reward is given to improve the character’s equipment. You can see the passage of the first ten levels in the May test in this video.
Contracts
Contracts can be classified as daily quests that allow players to obtain resources for crafting various things and, occasionally, items for sharpening equipment or character skills. To open contracts, certain conditions must be met in order for them to become available. You can complete a limited number of contracts per day, but in some cases you can increase this number. For example, as the hero’s level increases, bonus contracts are awarded, and some elite mobs drop special scrolls. There are two types of quests you can take from NPCs:
- General contract – free tasks to kill mobs that are equal to the character’s level. You can take 15 orders per day. Unlocks at approximately level 20-22.
- Special contracts become available from level 30. You can also take 15 of them per day, but to accept the order you need to pay in gold. Orders for levels 28-31 cost from 20 to 23 thousand gold, and for levels 32-34 from 23 to 27 thousand. To complete these tasks, you most often need to kill mobs higher than yourself in level, but the reward is also more valuable.
After accepting one of the orders, you can update the available list to try to catch rewards of interest or kill certain mobs. In addition, you can spend Contract Coins with a special NPC to purchase useful (and not so useful) goods.
Guild Boss
Each guild at the second level gets access to its base, where there are several NPCs and there is an entrance to the guild bosses. The guild level determines which boss can be accessed. You can only visit one boss per day, so you should take this seriously. Each participant can die on the boss only 3 times, after which they will be teleported from the dungeon without the right to return. Killing the boss gives guild experience and valuable loot.
PvP
It is worth noting that PvP may not always happen at these game events. It all depends on the politics on the server and its population. There may be situations when hundreds of players from different alliances and guilds collide on the battlefield.
Open World Events
The developers have repeatedly talked about events in the open world and emphasized them. But in the end, we just come to the location, kill the mobs and hand over the dropped items in certain places. There are small subtleties between the events, but globally they differ little from each other in essence.
During the technical test, held from September 19 to October 3, 2023, events were periodically held without players being able to fight each other, but most events were held with free PvP. For leading places in the event rankings, you can receive experience and items to improve your character’s skills.
A video from the May test shows how The Wolf Hunting Contest event goes:
Bosses in the open world
Currently there are 4 bosses in the game (Morokai, King Excavator-9, Chernobog, King Chimaerus) and 2 archbosses (Queen Bellandir, Tevent). When the boss appears, a PvP zone is activated around him, and players can arrange battles among themselves. But they can simply kill the boss with their joint forces. It is worth noting that the bosses have a limited time, and players do not always manage to meet the allotted time, especially in cases with archbosses.
In the video from the May test from Steparu you can see an example of the confrontation for the Chernobog boss.
Open world dungeons
Dungeons are part of the world and are not hidden behind a loading screen. You can enter it at any time and go down to the floor you need. But you should be wary of monsters and other players, since the dungeons are constantly in PvP mode. In total, you can find five dungeons on the map: Syleu’s Abyss, Temple of Sylaveth, Shadowed Crypt, Ant Nest, Sanctum of Desire. Only the first two were shown in tests, and “Anthill,” as we know from the words of the producer, opens only under certain conditions that cannot be met in tests.
Riftsone and Boonstone
In the world, they are flags that are located throughout the map and their capture is a full-fledged PvP event in the game. In total, the guild can capture three Riftsone and three Boonstone. Each flag gives the guild certain characteristics, resources and experience for the guild. Any guild can come and try to prove their right to own the flag. Single players can also take part in PvP, but they will not be able to capture the flag. To capture, the clan leader or one of the officers must activate the capture, after which the area around the flag must be held for 5 minutes. Whoever is the owner after 30 minutes of the event receives bonuses for the next day and a half. After 36 hours, the event will repeat, and the owner will have to defend the flag from those who want to capture it.
Castle Siege
Previously, we wrote basic information about this event, so we will not go into details again. Let us just remind you that the content is designed for large-scale PvP confrontation between several alliances.
Shipping tax
The Tax Delivery event may be one of the most fun in the game. The guild that owns the castle must deliver the tax chest from Vienta Village to their castle. To do this, one of the clan members (I suspect that this is the head of the clan, or one of the officers) turns into a huge golem, which carries a huge chest on its shoulders. All other players can prevent this from happening and receive their share of the taxes if the golem is destroyed. Without allied guilds, it will be difficult to protect the golem, since the path is not close, and there may be a lot of people who want to interfere. In addition, there are several obstacles along the way that must be overcome.
These are the main PvE and PvP activities that the developer and publisher showed to the players. We hope that in the future the available content will expand so that every player will find something to do.
