The Omega Force studio, which is the internal unit of Koei Tecmo, became famous thanks to many games in the Musou genre. The developers delight fans not only with their own series, but also with third -party projects, such as Persona 5 Strikers, Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors. Despite the fact that the Dynasty Warriors franchise, which has nine main parts and many spin-offs, remained unfamiliar to me, with the release of the new Dynasty Warriors: Origins, I finally decided to plunge into her world-as it once did with Samurai Warriors after fifth. In this review, I will share my impressions.

The plot of Dynasty Warriors: Origins do not intrigue from the very beginning, adding up a false impression that we are waiting for a standard story about political intrigues and conspiracies. In part, it is, but over time, the plot is spinning and watching it in principle becomes quite interesting, especially during excellently set kinematographic videos. Only the lack of translation into Russian is upset, so if you do not know English and do not want to use the screen translator, then all this will pass by you.

The main character is the original nameless character, to whom you yourself can give a nickname at the beginning of the passage. Our protagonist lost his memory, so he does not remember anything, except how to hold the weapon in his hands. Unfortunately, the developers made it dumb, so in most cases it will only be silent. Although this solution has supporters who claim that this allows you to associate myself with the hero and independently build his character, I am not a fan of this approach. Still, it looks very strange when, during the plot events or a heartbreaking conversation, our hero is silent or just nods his head. The game only occasionally allows you to choose a short replica during dialogs that are not even voiced, but this does not particularly save the situation. However, running ahead, I’ll say that this is the only thing I can scold Dynasty Warriors: Origins.

The game offers classic gameplay in the style of “1 versus 1000”, which makes it possible to deal with huge crowds of enemies alone. The combat system resembles slasers and includes combo-units that are used using a conventional and enhanced attack. Moreover, each weapon is noticeably different from each other, essentially changing the game process, so it makes sense to change them at least in order to diversify the gameplay for themselves.

Conventional enemies are quite simple and most often do not pose a special threat, but they can still interrupt your attacks of attacks if you call for a second or let them go to your back. They can also group and apply a powerful attack, which can only be avoided using a special reception or evasion. Officers are stronger enemies with increased health and various abilities. When battle with them, it is necessary to use your entire arsenal, monitor the scale of energy and competently use skills. I played at a high level of complexity, which I advise you, because the game becomes more exciting and tense, preventing it from relaxing, and at the same time the battles are not stuffy and prolonged, as is the case in some projects. In addition, on increased complexity, you get more gold and skills, and the pumping itself becomes more noticeable. Difficulties below are suitable for those who want to run the game in the plot or do not want to strain much.

Interestingly, the character level in Dynasty Warriors: Origins grows only with an increase in the rank of ownership, improving the characteristics and opening new opportunities. This is mainly due to the use of weapons directly in battle, but even inactive equipment can be pumped passively. This allows you to experiment with different styles, not fearing that a rarely used weapon will remain weak, but at the same time encourages diversity in the choice of weapons.

Of course, the character level is not the only thing that makes you stronger. In the battles, you also get skills points that are distributed in several boards of pumping, opening alternately. They include themselves as a common increase in characteristics and new abilities for weapons, and also allow you to open pleasant bonuses, such as an increase in the maximum number of “Hilok”.

A significant indicator in the battles is the fighting spirit, because if it decreases, then you will lose. To prevent this, it is necessary to seize camps and destroy enemy officers. It is extremely important to monitor the situation on the battlefield and act on the situation, providing assistance to your army in the right parts of the map. In the Samurai Warrior 5 review, I criticized the game for the fact that in the event of the death of any union officer, the defeat is counted, which is especially annoying during long missions. This is not the case here – after losing, you can continue from one of the control points to choose from, with which, in your opinion, everything went wrong.

Moving the world in Dynasty Warriors: Origins is carried out on a global map, where the hero has an enlarged model (as in the old parts of Final Fantasy, for example). On it you can collect resources, use teleports, sometimes communicate with NPC and take quests.

The main tasks usually have a long duration and include several goals. In addition to them, there are additional tasks that are similar in structure and duration. If you do not have enough pumping, you can take part in Skirmish-missions-endless short battles without any plot, which last an average of 2-3 minutes. In addition, some NPCs can give you instructions for certain actions in battles – for example, destroy 100 opponents using a certain type of weapon or parry the attack 3 times. A bunch of skills are usually accrued for them.

Graphics in Dynasty Warriors: Origins are made at a decent level, especially given the scale of the battles. The characters and locations look good, but there are no problems with optimization. The aforementioned plot cinema videos turned out to be especially beautiful, during which I want to take screenshots almost every second (one of them, by the way, I even put it on my desktop background). It is also worth praising the soundtrack, which is always perfect for gameplay.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers a dynamic and fascinating gameplay, which remains faithful to the traditions of the Musou genre. The game pleases with a variety of combat systems, large -scale battles and the ability to feel like a legendary warrior fighting with hundreds of enemies, and good graphics, high -quality katsen and a worthy soundtrack are added to the play and completeness. If you like dynamic action or want to get acquainted with the genre, then this game can be a great choice that can captivate for a long time.
