Riot Games is “working hard” on a League of Legends MMORPG

Development of MMORPGs based on the League of Legends franchise is “gaining momentum” after restarting the process in March 2024. About this reported Mark Merrill, co-founder and chief product officer of Riot Games, during the finals of the League of Legends World Championship 2024 tournament.

“We’re working hard on it, and it’s the project I personally spend the most time on. I really think the team has a great direction right now and is gaining momentum. We know the expectations, and we will truly strive not to disappoint.” – Mark Merrill, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, Riot Games.

It is obvious that the project is still in a very early stage of development, as only about 8 months have passed since the relaunch. However, Riot Games is increasing its staff and opening new vacancies. For example, in October it became known about the hiring of Orlando Salvatore, who previously worked at Blizzard and participated in the development of the battle royale mode called Plunderstorm in the MMORPG World of Warcraft.
