Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – Rice: where to find it and what it is for

Where to find rice

You will receive rice from the Divine Child of Rejuvenation, which you will find in the Inner Sanctuary at the end of the region: Senpou Temple, Mount Kongo. You will get to this place through the Illusion Rooms.

What is rice for?

Rice is primarily an object of healing. If you place it in your portable inventory and then use it, it will gradually heal your wounds. It works similar to pellets, but its power is stronger (heals faster and regenerates more health points).

Rice does not regenerate while resting – just like the healing gourd. To get a supply of this item, you must go to the Inner Sanctuary and talk to the Divine Child of Rejuvenation.

After a few uses of the rice and the resupply of the Divine Child of Rejuvenation in the Inner Sanctuary will be too tired to give you this extraordinary item again. Then give Fushigiri, an item that you buy from merchants (like Kramarza from Shugendo) or find in the game world. This will allow Divine Child of Rejuvenation to give you rice again.

You can also give rice to an elderly woman (we marked with a yellow arrow in the picture above) who is sitting on the edge of the hill, in front of the Shugendo site in Senpu Temple area, Congo. Then she will tell you a secret, thanks to which you will find the way to the Sunken Valley.

You will meet the old woman again in the Sunken Valley, next to the statuette of the Bodhisattva Valley Sculptor. She will tell you the secret again – how to fool the snake in the cave if you give her rice this time.

Remember that you don’t need to give the old woman rice to perform key activities. If you don’t give it back, it won’t block further events – it just won’t give you important information. You can do without them if you know what to do.
