The South Korean company Shift Up reported for the second fiscal quarter of 2024 and talked about the success of Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. It became known that the sensational action game about the adventure of Eve fully covered the contractual obligations to Sony, and now all income from the sale of the game goes to the developers. In total, the game brought Shift Up 25.863 billion won, which is just over $19 million at today’s exchange rates.
A company representative at a question and answer session noted that in the second month after release, more than one million copies of Stellar Blade were sold on PlayStation 5. The downward trend in sales is noticeable, but there is no big dip. The developers are constantly working on updates and improvements to the game to maintain interest in the game. As for the PC version of the game, the developers limit themselves to the phrase “in the near future.” However, it was said that they expect to receive more revenue than the PlayStation 5 version.
As for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, the project earned 38.467 billion won (~$28.4 million). Shift Up is evaluating the opportunity to launch the game in new regions and monitoring competitors to find the right moment to expand the audience.
In total, the company earned 65.2 billion won (~$48 million) in the second quarter, which is 65.4% higher year-on-year and 74.4% higher than the first quarter of 2024. Net profit exceeded 40.3 billion won (~$29.7 million).
In the near future it is planned to hire new employees, including to work on Stellar Blade and Project Witchesabout which they promise to publish more information only in 2025. In total, it is planned that in the next year and a half the company’s staff will increase by 90-100 people and will amount to about 420 people.
