Since its release in South Korea and Taiwan, MMORPG AION 2 has earned more than 160 billion won (~$100 million). This became known from information announced as part of the financial report of NCSOFT for the fourth quarter of 2025.
According to reports, the game earned a total of 94.1 billion won (~$64 million) in November and December 2025. And from January 1 to February 9, according to CEO Park Byung-moo, revenue amounted to 70 billion won (~$47.6 million). Thus, total revenue reached 164.1 billion won (~$108.8 million).
In addition, it is noted that the second season, which launched on January 21, 2026, showed higher player engagement and revenue than the release version of the game. This is especially important for a genre in which the bulk of revenue traditionally comes in the first month after a project’s release.
Regarding the financial results for the fourth quarter:
- The company’s revenue was 404.2 billion won (~$276.0 million), up 12% quarter-on-quarter and 1% lower than the same period in 2024.
- Operating profit was 3.247 billion won (~$2.2 million).
- The net loss was 1.493 billion won (~$1 million).
It’s also worth noting that mobile gaming revenue in fiscal year 2025 was 794.4 billion won (~$542.5 million), down 14% year-on-year. At the same time, PC online gaming revenue grew 23% year-on-year to reach 430.9 billion won (~$294.3 million).
The growth in revenue from PC projects is associated with the release of Aion 2, the launch of Blade & Soul NEO on the global market, as well as the release of an add-on for Guild Wars 2.
Let us remind you that the release of the global version of Aion 2 is planned for the third quarter of 2026, and the release of the Russian version was previously confirmed, but the exact timing is currently unknown.
