Space Marine 2 listened to criticism and improved balance in patch 4.1

Space Marine 2 listened to criticism and improved balance in patch 4.1

After the release of update 4.0 for the third-person action game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, the player community expressed dissatisfaction with a number of changes related to the complication of the game. The developers responded to the criticism and a week later released patch 4.1, correcting the shortcomings.

One of the main problems was the excessive difficulty of the game at low levels, where the number of enemies increased significantly. The developers admitted that this change was unintentional and violated the atmosphere of “power fantasy”, which is a key element of Space Marine 2. In the new patch, they returned the previous indicators for enemy spawning, reducing them to the values of the previous patch. In the Veteran level, the number of enemies has also been reduced to strike a balance between the difficulty of the game at release and its easier version after patch 3.0.

The authors also drew attention to numerous complaints about the weakness of bolters, which, according to players, are not effective enough at all difficulty levels. In patch 4.1, weapons of this class received an increase: damage was increased by 5–20% depending on the type of bolter. Additional changes were made to the Veteran difficulty, where players were given back 10% of the previously taken away armor. This difficulty should now not feel as easy as it did after Patch 3.0, but also not as difficult as after Patch 4.0.

Another improvement has been made to the AI of allies, who now deal 30% more damage to bosses. This change is aimed at making missions easier for players who prefer solo playthroughs. The developers have also made adjustments to the mechanics of Zoanthrope shields, increasing their cooldown, which should make fighting with them less annoying for players.

In addition, the patch fixed several technical problems, including a bug with short roll distances and problems with game instability. You can find out more details at page on Steam.
