Lesta Games has announced that the World of Tanks multiplayer action game will feature the Stalingrad map based on the image of the city in the early autumn of 1942. The location will be accompanied by a famous composition from the period of the Great Patriotic War, designed to convey the spirit of that time.
As the developers explained, they were especially anxious about the implementation of the city in the game. The famous tractor factory was used as a prototype for the game location. The city itself is filled with the atmosphere of autumn, and the various buildings are divided among themselves according to the setting: the early ones are pre-revolutionary, the relatively new ones are post-revolutionary. There are also newer neighborhoods under construction.
“Each reference was carefully studied in order to qualitatively recreate objects on the map, taking into account game features. If necessary, the team turned to historical consultants for help and verification of the accuracy of information,” says Boris Sinitsky, Operations Director of World of Tanks.
The release date of the update with the new map has not yet been specified.
