Like many multiplayer projects, Star Citizen has special PTS servers where future changes are tested. However, recently developers suddenly decided impose restrictions on access to them.

From now on, only users with an active subscription ($12 or $24 per month) and those who have spent more than $25,000 on in-game purchases can get into the Star Citizen test servers. The most active players from the last two patch cycles will also receive invitations.

As the developers explained, these changes were necessary, because in the first few hours after the launch of the patch on the PTS, there was a huge load on the servers, but over time, the number of testers was not enough. However, this answer did not suit the fans at all. Many people think that only money matters in Cloud Imperium, and one user even claimed that he spent $7,400 on the game and now he was denied access to the test servers.
