Studiobside Head Ryu Geum Tae published address to the community, in which he presented an emergency improvement plan for the new collectible role-playing game StarSavior. Upon its release in South Korea on November 20, 2025, the project faced criticism due to numerous bugs, a hostile reroll policy, an unbalanced economy, and confusing initial gameplay.
The studio responded to criticism of the business model by focusing on easing monetization barriers. First of all, when purchasing the paid currency “Star Crystal”, the number of bonuses will be increased. The conditions for accessing key character-related content will also change. Arkpoint and Extra Moment can now be unlocked through the 3rd stage of limit breaking or through reaching level 10 sympathy. Likewise, the requirements for obtaining character icons have been reduced from level 30 to level 5, with all users receiving compensation equivalent to the resources required to reach the previous level 30.
The restriction on reroll in the gacha system has been lifted. Initially, account resets required 14 days to “efficiently utilize server resources” and protect against bots. Now this process will take only 5 minutes, which will greatly simplify rerolling. In addition, permission is being introduced to duplicate nicknames, and all currency spent on this function will be fully refunded. Players will also receive one free name change ticket.
The developers admitted that the detailed but drawn-out training was boring and inconvenient for beginners. In this regard, the tutorial will be simplified and it will be possible to skip it. The player’s starting route will also change. Immediately after the tutorial, users will be directed to episode zero of the main story, and then to the Operation content. The conditions for unlocking main story chapters will be relaxed. There are also plans to rework the quick access menu to make content navigation more intuitive.
Regarding the combat system, which was criticized for its lack of strategic depth and long cooldowns, Ryu Geum Tae also apologized. The studio is preparing a number of improvements, including reducing the cooldown of skills when using Nova Burst and increasing damage, as well as general balancing and the use of various mechanics in battles.
The developer promised that most of the changes will be introduced into the game starting this week. All declared improvements that require additional development will be integrated no later than January.
