On the PTS servers of the survival simulator Deadside, a mode without safe zones has become available. The developers want to test how this will affect the gameplay and get feedback from the players. The purpose of these changes is to increase the value of the base and the life of the playable character.
“With the removal of the safe zone vault, it will become much more important for players to build a base if they intend to have a long-term perspective of storing property. This also means that most of the player’s progress can be reset in a single raid, which greatly raises the stakes in the game. In the future, we plan to expand the functionality of the bases, which should further support the development of this type of gameplay.
In order to get to the PTS server, you need to do the following:
- Right click on Deadside in your Steam Library, select Properties…;
- Go to the BETA section, select “public_test_server – PTS”;
- Wait for the download and installation of the update to complete, launch the game;
- Choose one of the PTS servers in a location convenient for you.
If players like the new mode, it will become available as an option for community server administrators. The changes will not affect official servers.
