The popular MMORPG Black Desert will appear in China very soon. Tencent has announced that the first phase of closed beta testing in the country will take place from July 23 to August 6. You can apply for participation until July 17. The non-disclosure agreement will not apply.
Tencent is expected to unveil Black Desert as part of the ChinaJoy 2024 presentation, which will be held from July 26 to 28. The company plans to actively promote the project through online marketing through broadcasts and offline marketing through ChinaJoy. Tencent previously unveiled Black Desert as a major new game at its own Spark 2024 event.
“Judging by the fact that after receiving permission to publish the game, tests and preparations for release begin, experts believe that Tencent is highly likely to receive it and is already actively preparing for the imminent release of Black Desert in China. Despite the failure of Black Desert Mobile in the Chinese market, Tencent still included the game among the main new products at its presentation, focusing on the PC version rather than the mobile version,” said Kang Seok Oh, senior researcher at Shinhan Investment & Securities.
The official release date for Black Desert in China has not yet been announced. Analysts are predicting the game’s release in the third quarter of 2024 as it could have a positive impact on the company’s financial performance in the fourth quarter.
