The BunkSoft Interactive studio, consisting of only two people, is preparing to release Blocks for Babies – a hybrid of a classic puzzle game with falling blocks and a first-person shooter. Game page in Steam marked as “coming soon”, but the demo is already available for download.
The official website describes the title succinctly – a bagel about stacking blocks with a shotgun. It all starts in the most recognizable way possible – the player arranges falling tetrominoes and clears the filled rows in a 2D puzzle mode.
The problem is that some of the blocks refuse to disappear along with the collected line. Such “demonic” figures remain on the field and spoil the entire layout, turning a neat glass into a pile of garbage.

At this moment, the camera switches to first-person view. Hostile blocks come to life, turning into cubic monsters, and attack the player, who takes up a weapon and shoots them, finally removing the threat from the board.
The number of opponents a player decides to engage with in one run directly affects the difficulty. The more blocks are called into battle at the same time, the more dangerous the firefight, but also the more the playing field is cleared.
The progression is built according to the canons of a roguelike, so that each run is different from the previous one. After completing the rounds, you are offered to choose perks and power-ups that change the mechanics of clearing rows, weapon characteristics and available abilities.

The Steam description lists several categories of content:
-
unlockable weapons and passive perks
-
tactical gadgets and modified puzzle pieces
-
bosses and permanent rewards that carry over between runs
The most unusual detail is a baby named Flapper, who asks the player to help remove blocks. After the demo ends, the child continues to follow the player around the house, adding an unexpectedly creepy edge to the colorful puzzle.
The release date has not yet been announced.
