CCP Games has announced a new multiplayer first-person shooter, EVE Vanguard, based on the popular EVE Online universe. The game will be released in December 2023 in beta testing.
Unlike the closed projects Dust 514 and Project Nova, based on the same universe, EVE Vanguard will be an extraction shooter in the style of Escape from Tarkov. This means that you have to go on raids in search of loot and confront bots and real players. If you die, according to the canons of the genre, you will lose all the contents of your inventory, but you will have the opportunity to be reborn. You will be able to play both alone and in a team. Unreal Engine 5 is used as the engine.
It is reported that the EVE Vanguard economy will be inextricably linked with EVE Online. So, you will be able to extract resources in a shooter and use them in MMORPG, as well as complete special contracts that can turn the tide of the battle.
The first gameplay footage of EVE Vanguard can be seen at the end of the Havoc expansion trailer for EVE Online.
