The authors of the extraction action game Dungeon Stalkers published the fourth dev blog, in which they shared details about working on server stability and fair play. Currently undergoing internal testing, during which the project received a number of improvements related to server stability and player selection. These problems were identified during the previous stages of testing, and in the next stages players will be able to evaluate the work to correct these problems.

Equally important is ensuring fair play and preventing cheaters. To combat malware, it introduced a “market proven anti-cheat solution” and significantly strengthened the server-side verification logic. According to the developers, this will “significantly reduce the likelihood of hacking attempts.” In addition, a Kill Cam function has been prepared that allows you to evaluate the honesty and skills of the player who defeated you in battle.

What do you think about removing the ability to replace broken armor with another one or shifting the emphasis from additional health to other attributes, such as defense?

We tested different approaches to the armor replacement system within the game and ultimately came to the conclusion that the current system is more interesting from a gameplay point of view. However, we plan to adjust the duration of the armor replacement process, which was somewhat lengthy in previous tests. In addition, we are introducing a system where players will be able to restore some of their durability using the Armor Repair Kit, which can be obtained from dungeons.

You mentioned “restructuring the skills system” earlier. Could you explain in more detail how it differs from the current system? I’m also interested in learning more about the “perk system”.

The current passive skill system, which requires each stalker to individually purchase and learn skills, will be reworked into the “Rune System” (tentative title). This update will streamline the process by making it easy to apply passive skills purchased at the account level to individual stalkers. Players will also be able to create and manage custom preset pages for their skills.

The new perk system will feature a range of improvements, from slight increases in skill power to completely new effects for skills. This system is designed to give skill configurations greater depth and flexibility, giving players more options to customize their gameplay.

With so many new characters being introduced, is there a risk that their development will delay release or impact the timing of other improvements?

Have the designs of the already demonstrated characters been finalized? Will updates include features such as blinking animation?

The designs of both existing and future characters are being refined based on player feedback to improve their overall quality. In future updates, we also plan to introduce facial animations such as blinking to further enhance characters’ facial expressions.

Are there any plans to introduce new traps or enemies? New characters are great, but adding these elements could make the game even more enjoyable.

As stated earlier, we plan to create many maps. Although the release date will depend on the progress of development. It is expected that our second map will be noticeably different from the existing “prison dungeon”. It will feature new enemies and challenges.
