The developers of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 are working on a new big-budget AAA game based on the universe of the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Saber Interactive studio, together with Paramount Game Studios and Avatar Studios, is creating an action role-playing game for PC and unnamed consoles. The release date has not yet been determined.

The plot of the new game will tell about events that happened thousands of years before the story familiar to fans of the animated series. Players will take on the role of an Avatar who has not yet appeared in the universe. In this vibrant world, you will be able to master all four elements, fight alongside your allies and face the challenges of maintaining balance. The game will bring together both familiar elements of the franchise and new ones, offering fans a unique opportunity to delve deeper into an unknown period of the universe.

“We know that loyal fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender are looking forward to new stories that will take them into the universe of the series, and through the game we will be able to expand the world and give fans the opportunity to experience new content in a completely immersive way,” said Paramount Senior Vice President of Games and New Media Doug Rosen in a press release. “Saber Interactive has a long history of creating games based on IP, and we are excited to co-finance this AAA game with them and allow fans to experience this world first-hand.”

“At Saber we are all true fans [интеллектуальной собственности]which we work with,” added Josh Austin, head of development and licensing of intellectual property at Saber Interactive. “Our team members are some of the most dedicated and passionate creators, and we are honored to join forces with Avatar Studios and Paramount Games to further expand the universe of Avatar Legends in video games. This unique co-financing structure is the result of our ever-expanding collaboration with Paramount, which began over ten years ago with [World War Z]and we look forward to everything the future holds.”

Unfortunately, the new game does not yet have an official name, trailers or screenshots. The project is in the early stages of production, so fans should be patient.
