The authors of the King's Raid reboot answered questions about stamina, hiring heroes and auto-combat

The developers of the updated version of the free role-playing game King’s Raid have published answers to questions from participants in the recent closed beta testing. The team admitted a number of mistakes in organizing the process and communicating with the community. According to them, due to the rush to prepare for tests, many aspects of the game looked unfinished, and the lack of dialogue with players created a false impression that the studio was closed. The authors promised to make the production process more transparent and regularly share news through notes.

One of the main topics of discussion was the updated stamina system, which participants felt was too restrictive. The creators explained that this mechanism is intended to smooth out the gap in progress between different types of players, however, as part of the beta, the available energy limit was deliberately cut in half. By release, the maximum amount of daily endurance is planned to be gradually increased. Changes will also affect the structure of acquiring heroes. The current format, which excludes the direct purchase of characters from the store, was chosen to simplify the entry of new players, but in the future the system will be adapted to provide more freedom in developing your favorite fighters.

The authors associated complaints about the inconvenience of auto-combat and excessive emphasis on manual control with the specifics of the selection of heroes for this stage of testing. Many auto-friendly characters are still in development.

In general, the studio sees the event not as a demonstration of final quality, but as a test of basic mechanics, such as the “Tavern of Heroes” system and the overall combat balance. In the next phases, the amount of available content, including new levels and multiplayer features, will be significantly expanded.
