Story line

The story of the game takes place in the present day. You play as Adam, who, while moving into a secluded forest home with his wife, finds that the movers have simply dumped all their belongings on the patio and left. Now tasked with furnishing his home, he makes his way through the house to sort out his belongings and ends up in the attic, where he finds a strange diary belonging to the house’s previous tenant. This is where the game takes a turn and starts focusing on the horrific memories the magazine has brought back.

Game process

Starting with a calm, well-lit home, everything seems normal at first glance. As you start to put away Adam’s stuff, most of the boxes are stored in the attic, you come across a puzzle box. This puzzle is difficult, but solvable. Inside the puzzle box is a journal that will lead you to the next part of the game. The real horror is in the flashbacks. When you travel back in time to this strange house, playing as its previous tenant, who is at home in the dark of the night, you will begin to hear and experience some scary feelings and witness terrible events. It is in this chapter that you will meet your first entity. The developers have done a great job of creating an eerie atmosphere and events to follow, making you feel curious, helpless and stupid at the same time. The controls are really smooth and comfortable with a camera wiggle that doesn’t get annoying or inconvenient. Interaction with objects is light and based on the weight of the object; the vase is easy to lift and move, while the chair requires more effort. In the second chapter, when you are in pitch darkness, you can use an oil lamp or matches to see anything. You have to find oil and matches for them, but with them you can light candles around the house and you can even hold them in front of you to control your movement around the house and the surrounding area. The oil will run out pretty quickly, so don’t waste it just looking around, so don’t waste it.
