Tencent announced the closure of the mobile MMORPG Black Desert Mobile in China. The publisher made this decision after discussion with the game developer, Pearl Abyss. The ability to register a new account in the game or make payment for services is currently disabled. The servers will stop working on January 27, 2025, and on February 7 the website, forum and customer support service for the game will be closed.
The company offers gifts to all users in the PC version of Black Desert, which was launched on October 24, 2024 and attracted a lot of attention from users. In total, the game existed on the Chinese market for 2.5 years. And its closure is most likely due to financial unprofitability in a highly competitive market.
The global version of the game continues its development. For example, a new class, Kurenai, was added in November, and Calpheon Reception 2024, an annual event for Black Desert Mobile, will take place in December.
