Mainframe Industries published an article in which they made it clear what the upcoming Pax Dei game is and is not. As the developers explained, it is necessary so that players do not feel misled.
So Pax Dei is…:
- Not a “theme park” style MMO — There are no tasks from NPCs, no linear plot, no level restrictions for zones and items.
- Not a medieval simulator — The action takes place in a fantasy world inspired by the Middle Ages, but not historically accurate.
- Not a survival simulator — In the game there is no hunger, death from lack of sleep, you cannot rob other people’s houses, and so on.
- Not a single player game – You can play alone, but the game encourages interaction with other people.
- Not a fast game — There is no maximum level, resources are not at every turn, and the world is large and travel takes time.
In addition, the game has:
- Focus on social interaction — It’s best to play together with other players or clans; Single player gameplay has some limitations.
- Open world — Everything happens in the general game world, there are no separate instances.
- the freedom of action — Build a house, travel, trade, team up with other players.
- Agriculture — Collect resources, craft items, build a house.
- Adventures — Explore dangerous lands, fight other players and monsters.
- Civilization — Team up with other players to achieve common goals (trade, construction, battles).
- Living world — Players’ actions affect the game world; over time, cities, guilds, markets, etc. will appear.
