The creators of the cooperative shooter Killing Floor 3 shared plans for 2026

Six months after the release of the cooperative first-person shooter Killing Floor 3, Tripwire Interactive studio summed up the first results of the project’s development and presented a roadmap for 2026. The developers noted that over the past months they have been able to implement a number of important changes, including the separation of specializations and perks, as well as the addition of four new types of weapons and maps, including a jungle prison and an updated laboratory complex. The team considers the main achievement to be establishing feedback from the community, which has already influenced the list of priority tasks.

The next major update, opening the third season, is scheduled for mid-March. Based on the results of a fan vote, the ability to play longer matches will be added to the game. One of the most anticipated news was the return of the “Shooter” perk and two-handed shooting mechanics. In the spring, the arsenal will be replenished with Krait pistols for the engineer and Bloodhound P330 for the commando, which will become the first paired models in the game. In addition, the patch will introduce a new snowy location, another boss, and a previously unseen type of ordinary enemy into the rotation.

Over the course of the year, the studio intends to focus on expanding functionality and tools for the community. Plans for 2026 include the following innovations:

  • adding in-game text chat between spring and summer;
  • launching an endless mode and introducing an additional difficulty level;
  • release of official tools for creating modifications;
  • implementation of a server browser and hosting capabilities from the players.

In the fall, the developers promise to return traditional themed events, starting with the Halloween celebration. Along with the preparation of new content, work continues to optimize performance. To more accurately determine the development vector for the second half of the year, the studio launched a large-scale survey among players, the results of which will form the basis for subsequent updates.
